CYAN KENYA is a registered youth led Community Based Organization established in February 2016 as youth group in Kaksingri west location and later formally registered in May 2019 under the ministry of Gender, Children and social services with registration number CBO/HUD/0058/2019 as a non – profitable and non – political community based organization led by a group of young volunteers who wanted to mitigate sexual and reproductive health challenges faced by adolescents and young people in the rural set ups. The organization operates in the rural villages of Suba South sub-county, Homa Bay County with the view of involving young people in participating in the discovery transmission and preservation of morals and the stimulate the reproductive life, economic and cultural development of communities. Since Inception, we endeavor to build the capacity of the rural youth to be the architects of their own development and be part of the progressive global efforts for sustainable development. We are a volunteer Organization that develops and utilize the skills and experiences of volunteers in creating real Impact and change in the Community. The global values for community empowerment that drive us, that guide us, that install our hearts and minds all.

The principal mandate of CYAN Kenya is to ensure that Adolescents and young people have the autonomy, knowledge, and community support to make critical decisions about their health, education, professions, sexuality, relationships and marriage. Also, to ensure that they are free from coercion, violence, discrimination, abuse as well as access and participate in activities that promote their health and well-being through Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) service delivery and advocacy within Suba sub County. 

Throgh partnership with Population Service  Kenya, Amref Health Africa, LVCT Health and MOH CYAN KENYA has reached a total of 1582 Adolescent and young people with different information and services in the last year.
